The Role of Assessment (Teaching)

While teaching you always have to remember to be fair. Assessment requires fairness that the teacher has to provide to all of his/her students. The primary goal of use of assessment is to aid teachers in decion making about learning goals. Assessment is important because it helps teachers delivery and the pace while teaching and instructing. Assessment is not only used for the course of teaching a lesson, but after the lesson as well. Teachers use assessment to evaluate the students as well as the learning materials, to potentially improve future learning instructions.

What is Assessment???

Assessment is basically observing and measuring learning. As a teacher it is good en age with your students to have a better understanding of each of their process of learning. There are different functions of assessment. These specifically include; Formative assessment, summative assessment, Evaluative assessment, and educative assessment. All of these assessments are important because they all offer some type of feedback from your students or integration. Using these assessments in the classroom can also help you individualize each of your students and their learning behaviors. That is just a brief description of assessments and its functions.
